The design of “Fish Scales” is based on triangular symbols, similar to Pennsylvania Dutch hex signs, which have been used in Japan since ancient times in tomb paintings, and on haniwa figures, Noh costumes and battle armor. To create this mystical motif, NUNO blends fine merino wool with a touch of nylon in a complex weave of texture and color.
