The design motif of this garrulous overshirt is the caption balloons used to contain dialogue in Japanese manga.  To create the soft textural edges of these speech bubbles, NUNO incorporates white wool threads that are woven as floats, which are hand cut after the sheer silk fabric comes off the loom.
